Game Summaries of Frosh-Soph vs. Boylan

The Belvidere Bucs played hard against an overwhelming Titan freshman team. The Bucs, down several players for various reasons, began the game with only 10 on the field. Boylan brought over 20 players. Despite being unable to match Boylan man-for-man, the Bucs held them scoreless throughout the first half. Erick Arellano arrived late into the game and provided a much needed boost, which evened the sides.

Unfortunately, Early in the second half, the Buc defense grew weary, and failed to mark a Titan attacker, who received a cross-pass and took our goalie on one-on-one. It was a tough situation for any goalie to face, and Sergio Gallegos lost this battle. He quickly rebounded and blocked several more Boylan shots in the next few minutes, which sparked our defense to hold Boylan for the rest of the game.

The Buccaneers lost 1-0, but showed that they can compete with the top teams in the NIC-10 conference.
