Rockford, IL-There are few things which people anxiously wait for each and every year...the Boone County Fair, fall fast approaching, school going into session (well maybe only parents want that). But high school football is one of those revered things in communities across the country. In the Belvidere area this is especially true.

The Belvidere Bucs would take to the field on Friday night against the Jefferson J-Hawks. They would chalk up an impressive win against the J-Hawks, beating them , 43-27. Although, this was a win, the Bucs did have difficulties stopping Jefferson's Kenyatta Larkins who rushed for 147 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The first half would see the Bucs score 4 times, which included a halback pass from Halfback, Kyle Harris to an open Kane Steger. On the Bucs second possession, Steger would again, catch another TD reception, this time an impressive 71 yard pass from the Bucs QB, Troy Vandenbroek. The Bucs score 2 more times in the game.

The Bucs would chalk 235 yards on 40 carries with Dan King leading the way with 16 carries for 78 yards. Vandenbroek would pass go 6-12,144 yards and throw 2 TDs. On the defensive side of the ball, Jacob Fondrk would lead in tackles with 13 tackles (4 solo and 9 assists).

Next week, Belvidere is on the road again at Auburn.  Come on out and support the Bucs.
