BELVIDERE, IL – There are few things which people anxiously wait for each and every year...the Boone County Fair, fall fast approaching, school going into session (well maybe only parents want that). But high school football is one of those revered things in communities across the country. In the Belvidere area this is especially true.

The Belvidere Bucs would take the field on this Friday night against the Auburn Knights. They would chalk up an impressive win against the Knights beating them soundly, 58-14.

The first half would see the Bucs score 8 times, including an impressive opening kick-off return (first play of the game) of 85-yards by Kyle Harris. The Bucs coaches would give much of the Bucs bench players quality minutes playing starting late in the 2nd quarter. The Bucs would only score 1 more time in the game. In the 3rd quarter, Buc quarterback, Aaron Slaven, would pass for 87-yards to Reed Greiter who would score.   

Auburn would not be without their bright spots. They would score twice in the game, including an 90-yard kick off return early in the 2nd quarter.  

This is hopefully the sign of good things to come with the Bucs. The next two games the Bucs are up against two tough opponents away from the comforts of Funderburg Stadium, Hononegah and then Harlem. Come out and support the Bucs.
