ROCKTON – Both the Belvidere Bucs and Hononegah Indians would look to their match-up to improve their records to 2-0.  Belvidere came into the game after beating Auburn last week and Hononegah would do the same after beating Belvidere North.  Hononegah would come away with a “W” and put themselves on top along with Boylan and Freeport.

Marcus Gooden, Belvidere’s running back, would score all three of the Bucs’ touchdowns.  He scored on runs from 54-yards, 4-yards and 29-yards.

Turnovers were a big key in the game.  Belvidere would have 6 turnovers in the game;  four interceptions and two fumbles.  Hononegah would capitalize on two of Belvidere’s turnovers in the game, eventually driving down the field and scoring.

Next week, Belvidere plays Harlem, again away from the comforts of Funderburg Stadium.  Come out and support the Bucs.  Go Bucs!
