BELVIDERE, IL-The 2-0 Belvidere Bucs would welcome the 1-1 Hononegah Indians into Funderburg Stadium for the Bucs' home opener on Friday looking for it's third win. The Bucs will have to look to Harlem to get win 3 as the Indians roll past beating Belvidere, 42-14.

For almost 3 full quarters the Indians dominated the game on offense and defense. Belvidere would have several turnovers (4 interceptions) and not make several blocks to get things going. Hononegah would exploit the mistakes and score.

It would not be until the 5:17 mark in the 3rd quarter that the Bucs would finally get on the board with a 41 yard run from Marcus Gooden. The next series after the TD, would see Hononegah go 9 plays, 19 yards and would end in an interception. The Bucs would get the ball back and drive down the field 68 yards. Kane Steger would get the TD with a 40 yard pass from Vandenbroek. This would bring the score 35-14.

The Bucs looked to be making a rally. The Buc defense would get an interception by Steger and go back on offense. The Bucs would get to 2nd and 1 and turn the ball over on an interception. The Bics would have 2 more possessions but it would be too late. The final would be 42-14.

Next week, the Harlem Huskies come to Belvidere to play at Funderburg Stadium.  Come on out and support the Bucs.
