Belvidere Bucs vs. Freeport Prezels (Varsity)
09/14/07

The Bucs (2-1) would come into week 4 of the football season hungry for a win, especially after their loss against Guilford (2-1).  They especially wanted to get this win on their Homecoming.  Freeport, also 2-1 after their 40-21 win over BNHS, would come into Funderburg Stadium hoping to stop that from happening. Fortunately for Belvidere the evening would be theirs and theirs alone, as they defeated the Pretzels, 46-31. 

The Bucs would strike first in the first quarter when quarterback, Kyle Tevebaugh (#7), throws to a open (#87) Charles Chatman for a 53-yard score.  Tevebaugh’s extra point kick would be good  And the Bucs would be on the board at the 1:41 mark of the first quarter.  Tevebaugh and Chatman would score two other times during the game (2nd quarter/6:11/16-yards and 4th quarter/9:22/6-yards).  Tevebaugh would eventual go complete 6 passes out of 9 tries and throw for 12 yards with 3 touchdowns and 1 interception.

The Bucs would also score on the ground with rushing touchdowns from (#40) Patrick O’Brien (2nd quarter/2:35/3 yard run and 3rd quarter/4:41/18-yard run), (#5) Tiras Harris (3rd quarter/5:10/13-yard run) and (#34) Phil Czechowicz (4th quarter/4:36/1-yard run).  Overall on the ground the Bucs would rush for 414 yards on 68 carries.

A good game and a good win.The Bucs next opponent is East at Swanson Stadium.  Good luck Bucs!!!

FRESHMAN GAME  

Belvidere's freshman played Winnebago on 9/13 because Freeport don't have a freshman team. Belvidere won 18 - 0. Hopefully this is the beginning of good things to come for these young men. - submitted by Todd Humphry
