BELVIDERE, IL-Both the Belvidere Bucs and the Harlem Huskies come into Friday's contest with identical records, 2-1. Last week, Belvidere comes off of a loss against a tough Hononegah team. Harlem, on the other hand comes off a big win against the Bucs' crosstown rival, Belvidere North. The last time the Bucs beat Harlem was in 2007. Only one team would come out victorious and get to .750 with a 3-1 record. That team would be Harlem.

Harlem would set the tone early in the game scoring on their sixth play of their first drive on a Brenton Benedict 3 yard run. On their second drive in the first quarter, Benedict would again score. This time on a 52 yard run. At the end of the first quarter the score would be 13-0, Harlem. Harlem would continue their drives into the second quarter and Benedict would be the main focus once again. The Harlem running back would score two more times in the second quarter. Both touchdown runs one from 1 yard out and another from 3 yards out.

With 57 seconds left to play in the half, the Bucs would get onto the scoreboard. Buc quarterback, Troy Vandenbroek would pass the ball 26 yards to receiver, Reed Greiter. The Huskies would get the ball back with 54 seconds left on the clock in the first half. Harlem would pass the ball 5 times and marched down the field and would eventually run the ball in on a Kevin Witcik 2 yard run. The score at the break would be 34-7.

In the second half Harlem would score two more times. Benedict would score again in the 3rd quarter on a 55 yard run. Gustavo Rocha, the Harlem kicker would also kick a 32 yard field goal in the fourth quarter. The score at the end of the game would be 44-7.

Next week, the Bucs travel to Rockford to play at Swanson Stadium to go against the Guilford Vikings.  Come on out and support the Bucs.
