Belvidere Bucs vs. the Rockford East E-Rabs (Varsity)

Rockford, IL-The Belvidere Bucs return to Swanson Stadium in Rockford to see if they can get another win and inch closer to a play off birth. They come into Friday's contest with a 3-3 record after a decisive win against Freeport, shutting out the Pretzels, 55-0. The E-Rabs come into the contest with a record of 1-5 after a 1 point loss to Belvidere North in overtime last week, 59-58.

The Bucs would come away with the win at Swanson Stadium against the E-Rabs, 50-6. The Bucs would score 8 times and have 5 different people score. Buc quarterback, Troy Vandenbroek would go 3-8 for 106 yards, including 3 thouchdown passes. Vandenbroek's TDs passes were to receiver, Kane Steger and to running back, Marcus Gooden. Steger's receptions were for big yardage (34 yard catch for TD and a 54 yard catch for TD). As far as, the Bucs running game, they would have 261 yards on 43 carries averaging over 6 yards a carry.

Defensively, the Bucs attacked the E-Rabs offense logging in 47 tackles from 15 different people. What is probably the most impressive stat of the night though was the number of sacks that the E-Rabs allowed, 7.

The Buc scoring would go:

In the first quarter, Kyle Harris would have a 3-yard TD run four minutes into first quarter. The next series, the E-Rabs fumbled which eventually leads to 34-yard touchdown pass from Vandenbroek to Kane Steger. Vandenbrock completes his second TD throw, an 18-yard pass, to Marcus Gooden

In the second quarter, East gets on the board with a 9-yard run by C’Vontez Johnson.
Marcus Gooden would respond, 18 seconds later witha 7-yard touchdown run. Jonas Pedersen would get a chance to score as he kicked a 27-yard field goal to make it 29-6 going into halftime.

In the thrid quarter, Dan King would go in for the 3-yard TD run.

In the final quarter, Vandenbroek would hit his apparent favorite connection this season, Steger for the second time with a 55-yard reception. And finally, Max Hendrickson would score from the 17.

Next week, the Belvidere Bucs travel to Titan country and take on the undefeated Boylan Titans. Come on out and support the Bucs.
