BELVIDERE, IL –The Bucs would play the final game of the season on Friday, October 22 against the Jefferson J-Hawks and end their season on a high note.  They would win the fame, 20-14.  

    
Jefferson would get on the board first with a 52 yard run in the first quarter.  The Bucs would answer 4 minutes later with a 10 yard pass from quarterback, Troy Vandenbroek to Cody Colquett.  The Bucs would continue to score two more times in the first half with runs by Kyle Harris and Marcus Gooden  (9 yard run and 1 yard run respectively).  The score at the half would be 20-8, Bucs.

   The second half both teams would hold each other scoreless fro most of the half.  With two minutes left in the game, Jefferson would have a final push and score on a 22 yard pass, making the score 20-14.  This would end up being the final.

The Bucs would end the season 4-5 in the NIC-10.  The season probably did not go the way that most people wished but the Bucs did finish strong winning 3 out of 4 the second half of the season. 

I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone involved in the Belvidere High School Football Program.  I especially want to say thank you to the seniors who leave us to forge on new adventures for themselves.  I wish you all luck.
