Woodstock, IL - Belvidere came into Marian Central Catholic’s stadium in Woodstock looking to advance their bid to the 2nd round of the IHSA 5A playoffs. The Hurricanes put an end to that thought. The Hurricanes, to be rather cliché, blew the Bucs away, 42-6, and advanced to play conference rival Montini in the 2nd Round.

Corey Corbett of Marian, would rush for 145 yards and 5 touchdowns in the contest. The Bucs would eventually get on the board in the fourth quarter when the Hurricanes would fumble the ball and Buc defensive tackle, Brad Marozik, would get the fumble recovery for the touchdown. Belvidere would have 48 yards of total offense in the game.

Although the season is over, the Bucs can be proud of their season. They never gave up and did make it into the playoffs. I would like to thank the “stat guys (Joe Hendricks, Andy Baird and Regan Gray) for all of their hard work and efforts this year. Good luck to all the seniors in their future endeavors. And to the Juniors and rest of the underclassmen, as they say on the North Side of Chicago, there is always next year. Go Bucs! |
