What a great High School football game Saturday in Chicago, that is if you like scoring. Luckaly on offense we were able to score a lot of point and have the ball last to secure a win. In the playoffs a win is a win knowmatter how it happens.
For those of you fans that made the trip, you made a huge difference in the outcome of the game. Not only were you into the game but your cheering made us play better and shifted the momentum in our favor when we needed it.
For those of you that could not make the trip, I wish you would have been able to see the outstanding performance by Patrick O'Brien, scoring 6 Touchdowns and running for 296 yards. He carried our team to a match up with Morris High School in the states quarterfinals.
This match up will be a great game and a great challenge for us. Morris is a powerhouse football program and is always in the state playoffs winning the Championship in 2006. We hope to be able to contain there power running attack with some defensive players coming back this week to help us. At one time last week we had 6 starters out of the defensive lineup. We Hope to get 4 of these players back this week.
Morris has a very large and aggressive line on both sides of the ball that will give us fits. The one thing in our favor may be that they have 4-5 players playing both ways. We will just do what we do best and pound the ball and get them tired to make a run in the 4th Quarter. It is going to be a big crowd and we need all the support we can.
We hope to see you there,
Coach Matt Weckler
