Another season of BUC football is upon us and the future of the program is on an upswing. The main reason for the program getting better has to do with the numbers. The Bucs will suit up 43 varsity players this season as compared to 28 a year ago. With these higher numbers, you will see the same type of offense and defense you saw a couple of years ago with all players playing one position on offense or defense and our offense dictating the tempo of the game with our no huddle attack.
Again this season, we will be the smallest school in the conference and will be looking for those 5 wins that will get us into the 5A playoffs. This is a goal that can be achieved as long as we can stay healthy and get some things to fall our way. The Bucs will be very young on both sides of the ball, starting 7 juniors on defense and 5 underclassmen on offense.
The coaching staff is very optimistic with this group of young players and will continue to work to keep building the Belvidere program back to where it once was.

Sophomore

Football season is here!!! What an exciting time for BUC fans. On the sophomore levels are goals remain the same.
1. Improve on their record as freshmen.
2. Compete for a Conference Title.
3. Learn how to become a Varsity football player
With the numbers not being very good for the sophomore team we have been really pushing the kids to be in the best shape they can be in. We will have some players who will be playing both sides of the ball. We also will be bringing up freshman to help our sophomores with depth. The freshman have a very good class and they and the sophomores are getting tired of hitting each other and are ready to get into the season.
I expect us to compete in each game and am always excited to see their growth through the year as they take the steps to be a quality varsity football player. I hope to hear you all in the stands throughout the year supporting our team.
