Coaches Corner

Coach’s thoughts on season:

This year’s varsity team has 1 senior, 5 juniors, and 1 sophomore.  We as coaches feel that this team has a lot of potential.  While they are a young team, they showed what it takes to excel at the JV level.  While on the JV team they took 1st or 2nd at every tournament except for one 4th place finish and went undefeated in conference play.  They did this by working together and having fun all at the same time.  One thing that this team has compared to past teams is their friendships.  For the most part these girls are friends outside of the bowling team and spend a lot of time together.  That keeps the girls spirits up and keeps them going throughout the games.  We look forward to a good season and are looking to set some new school records this year.

The JV team has 1 junior, 2 sophomores, and 12 freshmen.  This is the most freshmen that we have had on the team.  While the team is young, we feel that the first year jitters will go away quickly, because there are more people in the same situation, so more people to lean on.  Right now they are showing great potential on the lanes and are improving daily.  If these girls stick together, they will succeed in the future of Belvidere bowling.
