Coaches Corner for Conference Match vs. Boylan 12/7/2006

Thursday was our first home match and it just happened to be against Boylan.  Boylan is slated to be a top contender this year and we were ready for them.

At the Varsity level, Melissa Knox came out firing with a 213 game.  Belvidere shot a 1089 leading Boylan by 40 pins.  Knox continued what she started and had a 244 in the 2nd game and Erin Wilcox helped out with a 210 game.  Boylan beat us that game 1098-1079.  We still had a 21 pin lead going into the third game.  Kyra Tschumper stepped up and helped out teammate, Knox in the 3rd game shooting 245.  Belvidere shot a 1082 that game and went on to beat Boylan 3250-3176.  Knox finished with high series of 600.

JV also looked for Boylan to be a top contender this year.  Our team started out strong shooting a 976 to Boylan’s 792.  In the 2nd game Christina Brock shot a 203 and Lindy Wefel put in a solid 215 game.  The team put out an even better performance with a 1008 to 736.  JV finished out strong in the 3rd game with Taylor Lindberg leading the way with a 200 game.  Belvidere won by close to 700 pins with a score of 2926-2241.  Lindy Wefel finished with a 561, Christina Brock had a 551, Taylor Lindberg finished with a 522.

Our girls did good when put to the test today and we would like to see that continue throughout the season.  On Saturday, Varsity travels to Plainfield North (Joliet) and JV travels to Freeport.  Good luck this weekend and we hope to see everyone there.
