Belvidere high school students recognized
On May 14, 2009, Belvidere High School’s I.D.E.A., Individuals Dedicated to Excellence in Academics, program will recognize 96 students for their outstanding performance in academics and school attendance. The goal of the I.D.E.A. program is to provide positive rewards for students who define academic excellence in our school.

To be eligible to attend this IDEA Year End Breakfast, each student must have been an IDEA member for all preceding quarters (1st, 2nd, and 3rd),  must have maintained a minimum G.P.A.of 3.0 (determined by 4th quarter midterms), may not have had any unexcused absences, and may have had no more than three excused absences through midterm of 4th quarter.  Students who met these program standards will have the chance to win a variety of rewards that were donated to the program by local businesses. Rewards include the following: a flatscreen television, Chicago Cubs tickets, Chicago White Sox tickets, an iPod Nano, and gift cards to Wal-Mart, Road Ranger, Target, iTunes, and Barnes and Noble.
