North swimmers starts season at Harlem Invite

Belvidere North’s Blue Thunder swim and dive team travelled to Harlem High School for the annual Harlem Invitational Swimming and Diving meet. 

The diving competition was held at 9 am and started the Blue Thunder off with 20 points as their varsity diver Jake Denny took the 1st place medal and in doing so broke the Blue Thunder 11 dive record with a score of 298.95.

The swimming portion of the Harlem Invite came at 1 pm where the Blue Thunder Varsity squad finished the day in 7th place while the JV ended up in 9th.

The relays are where the Blue Thunder finished with their best places of the day taking a 6th place in the 200 yard Varsity Freestyle Relay and a 7th place in the 200 yd Varsity Medley Relay.
