Coach’s Comments:
This was an outstanding win for our team. We beat a high quality football team; my hat is off to them. We won because we eliminated mistakes, we played a very physical ball game, and we never let down. One of the biggest plays of the game was keeping them out of the end zone on their two-point conversion try. That really gave the momentum of the game back to our sideline and we never relinquished it. Our defense came to play today, and it shows in the final score. Congratulations to our defense, led by: Trevor Graf, Kurt Siemsen, Matt Edwards, Ryker Rodakowski, Stephen Wolf, Lucas Howell, Craig Steinkamp, Michael Hejmej, Joey Grana, Andres Coral and Jamar Childs. The offensive line also did an outstanding job, Antoine Brown, Peter Groom, Dylan Bougher, Brad LeFleur, Jesse Cox, Kevin Yech, and blocking back Joe Girgenti.
The kicking game was especially important today. We kicked off twice into the end zone for touchbacks, giving our opponent a long field to cross. Our kicker, Alexis Sierra, had an outstanding game. Our punter, Martin Arellano, also did a great job, pinning DeKalb deep on our only punt of the game. This was a great job for our team!
