BSMS 8TH GRADE VS. DEKALB HUNTLEY (B GAME)

Result: Dekalb Huntley "B"-20 Belvidere South Bucs-6
Belvidere South Middle School's 8th grade "B" team fell to 0-2 this season with a 20-6 loss to Dekalb Huntley's "B" team. Huntley went ahead early in the game 6-0 on a short punt return for a touchdown. The first half ended that way as the Belvidere offense was able to move the ball, but bogged down on crucial 4th down plays.
The second half started well for the Bucs as they drove the ball down the field on a series of nice runs by Connor Boland, Alex Slaven, and Devin Deddo. Boland scored the touchdown off left end, but the 2=point conversion failed and the score stood at 6-6.
Belvidere's defense looked great for most of the plays Huntley ran from scimmage, but a quick back was able to break 2 long runs, scoring each time. One conversion and Huntley finished with the win at 20-6.
Highlighting Belvidere's defense was Gerardo Martinez with double digit tackles, Adam Becker with a nice interception and the entire front line and linebackers as they aggresively attacked the line of scrimmage. The offense was led by Garrett Hyser at quarterback completing passes to Shayne Keriazakos and Connor Boland. Boland finished with 75 yards rushing, Slaven had 53 yards and Deddo had 38 yards.
