BSMS 8TH GRADE VS. DEKALB ROSETTE

Result: Dekalb Rosette "B"-28 Belvidere South Middle School Bucs "B"-6
On a cold, blustery afternoon Monday, the BSMS Bucs "B" team fell to Dekalb Rosette "B", 28-6. The score was not an indication of how close the game actually was. The score was tied early in the 4th quarter, 6-6, but a late flurry of scoring gave the game to Rosette.
The Bucs scored first, on the second play from scrimmage as Adrian Cardoso ripped the football from the arms of a Rosette halfback, spun around, checked with the bench on which way to run, and scored the touchdown from 65 yards out. The 2-point converson was no good, but the Bucs had the lead 6-0. Rosette got back in the game with a long pass, short run, and a touchdown to tie the game 6-6 at halftime.
In the second half, not much happened until the 4th quarter when Rosette scored on a long run and conversion pass, going up 14-6. A fumble by Belvidere led to a Rosette pass of 57 yards for another score. Then, in an attempt to get back in the game, throwing against a strong wind, Rosette intercepted a pass and returned it 74 yards for the final score. A close game quickly became a blowout game.
