BSMS at BCMS (7th Grade)

Belvidere South Middle School's 7th Grade Bucs made a short trip over to Belvidere Central today to play a football game.  On a great morning for fooball, South convincingly beat Central 50-0.

The scoring started with premiere halfback Shane Mains running left for 43 yards and the touchdown.  Josh Hauser added the 2-point conversion making the score 8-0.

Mains added a second touchdown soon after his first.  On a 4th down with 3 yards to go, Mains took the ball on a counter and scampered 34 yards.  Hauser again added the conversion.  The score was now 16-0.

A punt return by Taylor Arrango from 54 yards made the score 22-0.  Luke Hearn added two points and the Bucs were up 24-0 while still in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Arrango took a pitch from quarterback Dylan Barr and threw a strike to Jacob Cheesebrough from 23 yards to make the score 30-0.  Mains then kicked the PAT and BSMS led 31-0.

Luke Hearn added a score as he powered it in from 8 yards out.  The PAT missed this time leaving the score at 37-0.  The half finished there.

The second half saw less scoring but still plenty of action.  The Bucs' Mains scored a third touchdown  with Hauser this time kicking the PAT.  The score was up to 44-0.

The scoring was completed on a 4th down play as Barr passed left to Ian Staples.  The play measured 13 yards.  A penalty ruined the PAT leaving the score 50-0.

Defensively, fumble recoveries were made by Cole Johnson, Walter Johnson, with 2 by Dalton Gooding.  Interceptions were made by Hauser and Nick Umlor.

Coaches Comment:

"We were looking to finish the season strong and we did just that.  It was total team win with contributors all over the field.  I couldn't be more pleased with a group of young men as I am with this team.  Everyone came together to make it a great year."
