"A" Game Results

Belvidere South's game against Burlington Prairie Knolls had an ominous start to it as PK rushed for 8 yards, passed for 27, and then rushed again for 6 yards on the first 3 plays.  But after that, the Bucs took over the game, stopping PK and taking over on downs.  South scored soon thereafter with Troy Vandenbroek taking the ball 27 yards for the touchdown.  Max Hendrickson added the 2-point coversion and the Bucs were on their way, up 8-0.
After a defensive stop, PK punted, South taking it in PK territory.  Hendrickson immediately scored from 42 yards out.  A pass to Ian Staples made it 16-0.
Hendrickson scored again from just 2 yards.  This time, South kicked the PAT.  Josh Hauser came through and the Bucs were ahead 23-0.
Still in the first half, Hendrickson added another touchdown, this one from 20 yards.  Shane Mains added the PAT after this touchdown.  The half ended 30-0.
The start of the second half saw Mains nearly score on the kickoff return.  He was stopped down on the PK 8 yard line.  A short pass to Jacob Cheesebrough took it to the 2 and then Brett Jensen took it in for the score.  Hauser again added the PAT.
With liberal substitutions, the scoring ended there at 37-0. 
Fine performances were turned in by everyone on the offensive side of the ball, Hendrickson and Mains being the workhorses.  Defensively, Vandenbroek had 8 individual tackles in space with Hendrickson being the stopper at middle linebacker.

"B" Game Results

In a see-saw battle, the Bucs "B" team was defeated 30-26 by Burlington Prairie Knolls Monday.  Outstanding performances were turned in by Cole Johnson who scored 2 touchdowns, one from 37 yards and the other from 65 yards.  Michael Yannone scored a touchdown on a punt return of 10 yards as he gathered a shanked punt and strolled to the endzone.  Alex Ramirez had an interception.

Next Game: Saturday, Oct. 11am - "A" game at Belvidere Central with a 5 quarter to follow.
