BSMS vs. BCMS (8th Grade)

On Saturday Oct. 13th we concluded our 2007 8th grade football season with a loss to Belvidere Central Middle School. Our over all record of 0 - 7 says nothing of our kids accomplishments and work ethics. Our record should have been 3 - 4, but our mistakes cost us the win three different times for example: when we fumbled a punt on our own 15 yd line and Huntley scored off that, or when we marched the ball the length of the field only to fumble it at the 2 yd line and allow Prairie Knolls to run the clock out when they are up 4 pts, or the time we get our touch down called back due to our illegal block.

\I'm not the person to make excuses, Iife isn't about making excuses, but this group of boys really battled hard the entire year and never gave up. When Coach Avila and I first took this group we knew we had our work cut out for us. This group struggled with simple things such as team concept, respect for one another, we quickly implemented the zero tolerance policy for negative comments and behaviors. It was a bumpy road, but now this group took major strides in the right direction achieving major performances, but most importantly doing a phenomenal job of working together and looking out for each other.

I commend this group of boys and big pat on their back for all their hard work and for never giving up.
