It was a battle between an Oregon rushing game and a North Boone passing game as the North Boone Vikings took on the Oregon Hawks September 5th at 7:30 for the second game of the season.

The game began with a Vikings kick to the Oregon Hawks. On the Hawks opening drive they rushed the ball 46 yards for the first touch down of the game. The Vikings answered back passing the football 69 yards for a touch down of their own ending the quarter tied, Vikes 6, Hawks 6..

Second quarter started much the same as the first as the Hawks fired things up with another touch down early in the quarter. With a successful two point conversion the Hawks pulled ahead by eight with 8:15 left on the clock. The action continued as the Vikings suffered a Hawk interception on their next possession. Starting at the Vikes 25 yard line, the Hawks on their first play ran the football for another touch down and with a successful 2 point conversion they continued to lead the game 22 to 6 with 7:54 on the clock. The Hawks scored once more late in the quarter ending the first half 30 to 6, Hawks.

The second half started with a Viking possession but was quickly lost to downs. The Hawks with their first possession of the half fumbled the ball giving possession back to the Vikings. The Vikes not about to waste this opportunity moved the ball deep into Hawk territory. Unfortunately, the Vikes came up short for a touch down in the 4th and had to turn the ball over to the Hawks. After a couple of plays, Oregon fumbled once again giving possession back to the Vikes. With a 1st and 10 at the Hawk 5 yard line, wide receiver Christian Embry completed the second Vike touch down of the game. Both teams went scoreless for the rest of the quarter making it a 30 to 12 ball game.

Early in the 4th quarter, Oregon with a 2:35 eight play drive scored on the Vikes once again. The Vikes answered back as wide receiver Christian Embry completed another Viking touch down making it a 37 to 19 Hawk ball game. The Hawks managed to score one last time clinching a 44 to 19 victory over the Vikes.

Viking players Alex Albrecht with 7 carries for a total of 46 rushing yards led the team. Leading players for pass receptions include Jon Albrecht with 7 receptions for a total of 119 yards and Tyler Bielski with 6 receptions for a total of 71 yards. Nice effort guys.
