Vikes lose to the Rockets

The North Boone Vikings hosted the Richmond Burton Rockets Friday, October 24th at 7:30pm. The Vikings fought hard for a win in what was their last game of the season but in the end the Rockets left with the victory for game number 9 of the season.
Vikes came out ready early in the first quarter as Vikings running back Mitch Mischung scored a touch down with 7:31 on the clock. Just seconds later on their possession, the Rockets executed a fast pass play and scored a touch down of their own tying things up with 7:28 left to play in the quarter. The scoring slowed a bit until late in the quarter when Vikings wide receiver Jon Albrecht took the ball into the Rocket end zone with just 30 seconds left in the quarter making it a 14 to 7 Viking ball game at the end of the first quarter.
Early in the second quarter the Rockets answered back putting 6 more points on the board to make it 14 to13 ball game as they closed in on the Vikes. Late in the quarter the Rockets scored again passing up the victorious Vikings making it a 14 to 20 Rocket game.
Defensive teams for both sides eliminated most scoring opportunities in the third until late in the quarter. With just 11 seconds left on the clock the Vikings wide receiver Tyler Bielski made an amazing 79 yard pass play for their 3rd touch down of the game taking back the lead with a score of 21 to 20 Vikings.
Early in the fourth, the Rockets moved the ball down the field and scored a field goal giving them back the lead making it a 21 to 23 Rocket ball game. Fans watched in hope awaiting another Viking touch down to take back the lead. Instead, late in the quarter the Rockets scored another touch down putting 6 more on the board winning the game with a score of 21 to 29 Rockets.
Viking players Alex Albrecht with 15 carries for a total of 108 rushing yards led the team. Leading players for pass receptions include Mitch Mischung with 7 completions for a total of 107 yards, Jon Albrecht with 6 completions for a total of 37 yards and Tyler Bielski with 1 completion for a total of 79 yards.
