Fantasy Football Nuggets
Facilitated by Mad Mike Leonard

There are endless magazines and websites devoted to the subject. Sports programming on television and radio now focuses not just on football but specifically on the phenomena known as FANTASY FOOTBALL. This will be my attempt to entertain and educate those who play, those who live and those who live with the owners of a fantasy football team. This weekly column will contain information on matchups, strategies, injuries, and an opportunity for you to ask questions about trade offers, who you should start in your lineup on a week to week basis and any other questions you might have. I will also list my picks to score and those who’ll snore for each week of the season. So make sure to check back here each week on Fridays or on Thursdays on the weeks there are early games (like next week) for my insights on Week 1 of the football season.

My Season Picks to Click are guys that you may look at now as just mid round picks but these guys will be considered Top 10 guys at there position at this time next year.
Rb Willie Parker Pittsburgh
no Bettis and Cowher has named him the goal line guy
Wr Matt Jones Jacksonville
with Jimmy Smith retired LOOK OUT someone has to catch the ball
Rb Tatum Bell Denver
the other Bell is starting for now but Tatum will emerge and surge
Wr Chris Chambers Miami
already has top ten talents now it will shine with Culpepper at the wheel
Qb Eli Manning NY Giants
on the verge of top ten status, he’ll close the gap on big bro
Jerious Norwood, the rookie running back for the Atlanta Falcons, may not break into the elite next year but you sure will know who he is by mid-season. The coaching staff must think highly of him to trade T.J. Duckett while starting running back Warrick Dunn still struggles with a hamstring injury. Norwood will be the goal line guy but he does have the break away speed to bust off long runs from anywhere on the field.
Here’s some bad news for you Larry Johnson owners. I am picking him as my “Bust of the Year”. Let me explain what I mean. Last years break out second half of the season catapulted LJ into the consensus Top 3 pick in this years draft giving fantasy owners dreams of breaking 2000 yards and the season touchdown record set last year by Shaun Alexander. Not going to happen. Herm Edwards is now in charge and his conservative play along with the retirement of lineman Willie Roaf and the departure of Offensive Coordinator Al Saunders to Washington makes me believe that although Johnson will still score 10-12 TD’s the visions of more than that are strictly “Fantasyland”.
