Fantasy Football Nuggets

Facilitated by Mad Mike Leonard

LET THE BRIGHT LIGHTS SHINE…

Auxiliary Press boxes being constructed for the first time in a fairly new stadium is not out of the ordinary when hosting an NFC or AFC Championship game or a Super bowl. This football game is not any of those. This is the return of a rival, a thorn in the side, a pain in the neck and that was while he was a teammate. It’s Class vs. Brash; it’s We vs. Me, the Uniter vs. the Divider.
The game on the schedule says Dallas vs. Philadelphia but with the hype on the return of Terrell Owens to the place where Owens rehabbed a broken leg and made a miraculous comeback to try and help the team (me, myself, and I) win a Super Bowl.
The bad was the almost immediate blame game that T.O. publicly abused Donovan McNabb with calling him out of shape, and not a leader claiming that McNabb “lost” the team. Since that time Owens has done nothing but be a “Me” guy in his actions by not practicing due to a lingering hamstring injury and over sleeping for team meetings, and oh yeah, accidentally trying to kill himself by overdosing on prescription pain killers. Of course he has 25 million and 1 reasons not to. Money and an Ego that needs constant public attention to survive. Evidently T.O. thinks that these are the traits of a leader. In the meantime McNabb has started out on fire as he leads the league in touchdown passes (9 td) and yards thrown (1248 yds) and is third in passer rating (106.0) in LEADING the Eagles to the top of the NFC East as he tries to lead his team to the Super Bowl and oh yeah, if along the way he gets the MVP as a byproduct of winning, that T.O. is the trait of a leader. The real intrigue that will bring a nation to their television sets on Sunday is the chance to see Good rule over Evil and if along the way we get to see Owens make a spectacle of himself, hopefully in a sideline tirade complaining about not getting the ball as the whole nation watches…hmmmm…..I guess T.O. wins either way.

IT’S FUN TO STAY AT THE YMCA….

Well because of Donovan McNabb’s 2 td passes and 2 td runs along with the fact that my QB Carson Palmer ran into the rebirth of the Patriot Defense my challenger this past week Executive Director of the Belvidere Y.M.C.A, Bill Holsker hung on for the victory even though his running back didn’t even dress for the game. I better start working on my core…..crunches anyone. Bill I will challenge you again when I get into shape (probably after the football season)
