FANTASY FOOTBALL STRATEGIES

One has as many strategies when it comes to picking who to play each week as Terrell Owens has excuses for not getting along with others. The obvious choices each week are the Peyton Manning, Larry Johnson, Shaun Alexander, and LaDanian Tomlinson’s of the world, but it’s filling out the rest of your starters each week especially in a 8-12 team league when you trying to fill out your third receiver or second runingback each week. Some use past history of match ups between the player and the team they are facing, some use recent games played by the opposing team, still others just use a hunch or just play the player they like better. One of the stats I use is looking at how many yards and points the opposing defense is giving up trying to establish a pattern in my own mind of who to play, who to trade for, and who to look for on the waiver wire. Listed below are the bottom 12 defenses in yardage allowed, and the bottom 12 in points allowed. Those teams on both lists, I feel, are more likely to be consistently bad and play into my decisions each week. Under that list are the teams with the most remaining games against those bad defenses and those with the least remaining games. Those not listed are in between the set of numbers listed.

FIRST VICTORY OF THE SEASON

In a stunning upset, the likes that haven’t been seen since the Cubs  in 2003 were just 5 outs from the World Series, I finally pulled out a victory thanks in part to Peyton Manning having a terrible day against the Titans and my QB Donovon McNabb having a great motivated day thanks to T.O.  I can at least wake-up each morning with my self respect even though I haven’t seen my own bed since Sunday. The couch ain’t that bad, I keep telling myself each night…. I have decided to take a week off to rethink my stance on this one on one match up (might have to challenge her again and get this thing fixed).
