Belvidere received the opening kick-off. The drive ended with a punt that was returned for a touchdown. The point after would be good. Belvidere sustained a small drive with a turnover in downs. Second quarter, Winnebago scored on a long sweep around the right end. The half time score would be 14-0, Winnebago.
The first play of the second half, Winnebago swept the left end. The Belvidere offense sustained several drives without scoring. The defense would hold Winnebago to 3 and outs several times. The defensive highlight of the game was a fumble recovery by Chase Cregeen caused by Shawn Johnston and Gus Eislele. The fourth quarter , belvedere would hold the ball for most of the quarter.

Chaz Gunn lead the offensive squad in a 32-0 shut-out with 8 carries for 121 yards. Quincy Joe led the team with 2 rushing TDs. The entire Lightweight Purple team was focused in an opening day victory over Carlson.
