Rockford, IL- The Coca-Cola RoadRunners will return to Wild Wednesday nights starting on July 11. Rockford Speedway officials announced the six race series for the RoadRunners which will consist of six consecutive Wednesday night appearances at the quarter mile facility, running through the final Wild Wednesday on August 15.

The RoadRunner Summer Rumble Series will keep separate points which will not count towards a driver’s NASCAR point standings. A champion will be crowned and awarded $300 of the $600 point fund that will be distributed amongst the top five drivers in the final point standings. The nightly purse will remain $100 to win and $20 to start, in addition a free tire will be randomly awarded each of the six nights to one driver competing.

“Many fans expressed an interest in having the RoadRunners return to Wednesday nights, after talking with the RoadRunner drivers we have determined that the RoadRunner Summer Rumble Series should be the perfect way to allow that to happen.” Stated speedway general manager Gregg McKarns. In addition to the Summer Rumble, the RoadRunner drivers will also be able to compete in the Figure 8 action each Wednesday night.

Rockford Speedway is celebrating 60 years of racing this season and features NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action every Saturday night and Wild Wednesdays each Wednesday night throughout the summer. For more information including a complete schedule visit www.rockfordspeedway.com.

Wednesday, June 27, 2007 (Loves Park, IL) – Nick Lasher claimed his second feature win of the season in the Crap Scrapper Hornet division at the Rockford Speedway. Sabrina Castillo and Dennis Smith Jr. also took home feature wins on $2 Madness Night at the Races.

Alan Bekielewski was the early leader in the 15-lap feature event. Lasher made his move towards the front from his sixth starting position.

On the second lap, he got on the inside of Bekielewski to challenge for the lead going into turn one. The two went side-by-side down the backstretch until Lasher pulled away for the lead.

Lasher had an easy drive towards his second feature win while Vinny Mangiaracina, Steve McBride and Matt Mangiaracina battled for second.

The three came to the white flag and made contact between each other and were able to keep going.

As the checkered flag fell for Lasher, the battle for second settled with Vinny Mangiaracina in second, McBride in third and Matt Mangiaracina in fourth. David Russell rounded out the top five.

Latasha Hillary jumped to the start of the 12-lap feature event for the Stateline Staffing Service Winged Women on Wheels feature event.

But that lead only lasted a half a lap as Castillo and Laura Siarkiewicz went low and high on Hillary, going three wide down the backstretch. Castillo took over the top spot going into turn three.

Castillo would pull away from Siarkiewicz to another WWOW feature win. Siarkiewicz finished second with Amanda Bielefeldt in third.

Ronald Stoltz was the early leader with Smith right in his rear view mirror for the first seven laps of the 10-lap feature. It was on the seventh lap that Smith would get on the inside of Stoltz to challenge for the lead. Smith would get by Stoltz for the top spot with Gantz following to take over second.

Smith would go on to hold off the veteran driver for the feature win. Ronald Stoltz would hold on to third.

This Saturday night, Instant Jungle presents an evening of NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing action. It’s also Donate 4 Life Night with the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, NASCAR All-American Sportsman, Coca-Cola RoadRunners and the SuperCups in action. Plus, there will also be a Kidney Bean Race. The action gets underway at 7:07 p.m.

Saturday, June 30, 2007 (Loves Park, IL) – Nick Beinlich became the seventh different feature winner in the top division at the Rockford Speedway. Fred Nason, Charlie Frisch, David Cerer and Garrett Goodwin also picked up feature wins on Instant Jungle Donate 4 Life night.

Beinlich grabbed the lead at the start of the 30-lap main event for the Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models. Bob Kahler and Jerry Gille quickly moved to the second and third spots.

On lap 6, Gille got on the inside of Kahler to challenge for the second spot. This allowed Beinlich to jump out to a five car length lead. The two would battle side-by-side for 9 laps until Kahler was able to get ahead of Gille.

At the halfway mark, Gille again tried to get past Kahler on the inside while Beinlich continued to pull away. Kahler, again was able to stay ahead of the fast qualifier.

Beinlich would go wire-to-wire to claim his first ever feature at the Rockford Speedway. Kahler would hold off Gille for second while Bill Hobson held of Ricky Bilderback for fourth.

“The car was great tonight, the best it’s ever been at this track,” a happy Beinlich stated in victory lane. “I gave it away a couple of weeks ago, and I wasn’t going to this time.”

The Late Model feature was dedicated to John Eschen, a longtime supporter of the Speedway.

Nason picked up his third feature win in the NASCAR All-American Sportsman division.

Brandon Eash jumped to the lead over Chris Gantz in the 25-lap feature event. Nason, who started sixth, quickly worked his way to third by lap 3. Nason got on the inside of Darrell Garman to challenge for second on lap 4. He worked his pay past the veteran and stayed on the inside to challenge Eash for the top spot on lap 6.

Nason got by Eash and cruised to his third win of the season. His win also allowed the fans in attendance to get half price chicken on Sunday at the Rockford area Popeye’s Chicken and Biscuit restaurants.

Eash would hold on the second with Garman in third. Doug Bennett finished fourth with Rick Nielsen in fifth.

Frisch extends his point lead by collecting his third Coca-Cola RoadRunner feature win.

Frisch started 10th and didn’t waste his time getting to the front. By lap 7, he was up to third. Three laps later, he easily got past Rogers to take over the top spot.

Frisch would pull away to easily win his third feature of the year. Chris Gantz just edged out John Logan Jr. for second. Bryan Wilhelmi was fourth with Vachenzia Jester in fifth.

The three pulled away from the rest of the field. But, the fans were treated to a great race behind the three throughout the race. On the last lap, after the leader took the white flag, Mick Ellis and Karl Turner got together coming off of the fourth turn and made hard contact with the wall. Both were alright, while Cerer came to take the checkered and the yellow flag.

Dorko would hold on to second with Myers in third. Erik Gehrke would win the battle for fourth while Erie Hoth came home fifth.

Jacob Zellmer was the early leader in the 12-lap feature event for the young stars. Zellmer had to hold off Kyle Brinkman for the first 11 laps of the race.

On the last lap, Goodwin, who was sitting in third, made his move on Brinkman for second going into turn one. He continued his momentum down the backstretch as he got on the inside of Zellmer going into turn three.

The two went side-by-side coming out of turn four and Goodwin pulled ahead to take the win over Zellmer. Brinkman finished third with Cody Lipstreuer and Jacob Bandaly rounding out the top five.

It will be a busy upcoming week at the Rockford Speedway. On Tuesday, July 3rd, The Home Depot presents a Star Spangled Celebration. The Stanley Steemer NASCAR Late Models, Budweiser American Short Trackers, Crap Scrapper Hornets, and the FIRA Mini Indy cars will be in action. Along with those divisions, there will also be a Flagpole Race and Spectacular Drags. The evening will end with a 10,000 WATT Fireworks Extravaganza. The action starts at 7:07 p.m.

On Wednesday, July 4th, Gilley’s Heating and Cooling presents the Midnight Ride of Paul Revere. Plus, the NASCAR All-American Sportsman, Coca-Cola RoadRunners, INEX Legends, INEX Bandoleros, and the Allison Legacy cars will be in action along with a Double Flagpole Race and a 10,000 WATT Fireworks Extravaganza. The annual holiday tradition will start at 7:07 p.m.
