The Roscoe Rush traveled to Beloit to face the Rock Co. Gladiators in the Ironman Football League Season Opener. The Rush was able to get on the board first with a field goal by KC Goad. The Gladiators would score the next 17 points taking a 17-3 lead into the fourth quarter. Led by quarterback Joe Cotton the Rush started their comeback with a touchdown run by De-Onte Foster making the score 17-10. The Gladiators were able to return the kickoff for a touchdown, and taking a 24-10 lead. Roscoe would answer with another touchdown run by Brian Kelly. The Rush defense forced the Gladiators to punt. Joe Cotton connected on a 51 yard pass to Rob Feltner for the game tying touchdown. With the game tied 24-24 both teams had numerous possessions in overtime, and with six seconds left Joe Cotton scored the game winning touchdown with his quarterback keeper, giving the Rush a 30-24 victory. For the game Cotton finished 16-33 with 239 yards passing and one touchdown, he also had 8 carried for 44 yards and a touchdown.
