ROCKFORD RAGE VS KALAMAZOO

On Saturday, February 20th at Sportscore the Rockford Rage took on arch rivals Kalamazoo. The Rage played an excellent game but just fell short of victory. Now, if you have never experienced flat track roller derby it is quite the event to take in. These ladies take their roller derby to a very serious level and are very exciting to watch.
Most importantly each bout that they have the proceeds are donated to a designated charity. So go to
www.rockfordrage.comand find out when you can go out and support the Rockford Rage.

BNHS W CLUB

A big "thank you" to Belvidere North High School's W-Club!

Today six representatives of the W-Club, and handful of adults, took the two hour bus trip to Garfield Park Prep Academy to hand deliver donated athletic equipment. The W-Club worked on this project for over a month, collecting second hand athletic equipment and monetary donations. The monetary donations were then used to purchase new athletic equipment for the school.

Upon arrival, the team hauled all of the equipment from the school bus into a classroom where they met with 25 student representatives of the 125 total student body. After brief introductions, the W-Club handed out the gear to the young students. Many smiles later, a tour was given, pictures were taken, and a certificate of appreciation was given to the W-Club by the Principal.

Congratulation W-Club, way to make North PROUD!

Mark Frailey To Enter HHS Hall Of Fame
On Friday, Jan. 9, at halftime of the Hillsboro/Pana boys basketball game, HHS alum, Mark Frailey, will be inducted into the Hillsboro High School Hall of Fame for his achievements in the sport of basketball.
Mark played guard for Hillsboro, earning three varsity letters. He was twice named to the Mid-State All-Conference team and received special mention all-state in the Chicago Daily News. He was the leading scorer on the 1969 varsity boys basketball team that finished 20-8.
While at Hillsboro High School, Mark set the all-time single game scoring record with 46 points. He is a member of the HHS 1,000 point club, tallying 1,202 points during his career.
Mark went on to play college basketball on an athletic scholarship to St. Louis University. He was a guard on the 1971 team that was inducted into the Billiken Hall of Fame. During his senior year at SLU, Mark earned both a sportsmanship award and special mention to the Missouri Valley All-Conference team.
After graduation, Mark returned to Litchfield as a coach and a teacher before taking the head coaching position at Belvidere High School in northern Illinois. At Belvidere he was named the Big 9 Boys Basketball Coach of the Year in 1980 and the Big 9 Girls Basketball Coach of the Year in 1992. Mark's girls basketball teams followed up a Final Four state appearance in 1992 with three consecutive Sweet Sixteen finishes.
Mark retired three and a half years ago from a teaching career that spanned 32 years. In 1991, he was honored for teaching excellence with a "Those Who Excel Recognition Award." He lives in Belvidere with his wife Jane. He has four daughters.

It is impossible for Paul and I to get everywhere but want to give everyone a chance to get more recognition to the kids in the area.
We are looking for sponsors for the website. We have various levels that people or businesses can pay each month to advertise on the site and help defray our costs while getting valuable advertising for themselves. Again, please remember that Paul and I (Ron Ramos) do not make any money off of ads or picture sales. We use any monies from that to pay for equipment and hosting the website site. Since the site inception (7/1/02), BCS.com has gotten over 1.4 millon hits which about averages out to just under 600 hits per day or 17,000 hits per month.

We need photo and story submissions for NBHS sporting events this year.

Unfortunately, my (Ron Ramos) kids and Paul Zeien's kids do not attend North Boone Schools, so we would love to see people submit stories and photos of sporting events.

You will be credited with the submission and anything would be greatly appreciated.
